LOS ANGELES, Sept. 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Multimedia entertainment studio Electus, an operating business of IAC (NASDAQ: IACI), today announced that Electus International has picked up all global distribution rights to the award-winning giant screen film Jerusalem, including television, SVOD, and Home Video rights. Narrated by renowned actor Benedict Cumberbatch, the 45-minute original production from Cosmic Picture and Arcane Pictures gives audiences a completely unique perspective of a part of the world that still captivates the imagination of billions of people. Electus will be selling the film at MIPCOM. FilmBuff will distribute the film on all major On Demand platforms, and also negotiated the DVD and Blu-ray release, to be distributed by MPI Media Group this holiday season.

Jerusalem has captivated audiences during its wildly successful run in IMAX® and giant screen theaters – the film is currently playing in approximately 30 of the most prestigious and visited museums and science centers around the world. The Washington Post called the film, "awe-inspiring and intimate," while the Boston Globe praised Jerusalem as "a mesmerizing vision." Jerusalem was also awarded Best Film and Best Cinematography at the 2014 Giant Screen Cinema Association Achievement Awards.

"Jerusalem is an unprecedented look at one of the world's most iconic cities, told through breathtaking, visually stunning filmmaking," said John Pollak, President of Electus International. "The filmmakers worked for years with government ministries and community leaders to gain rare access to the most sacred places of all three religions and became the first team in many years to capture aerial footage of the Old City and the Holy Land. The result is a timeless examination and celebration of the city of Jerusalem, and we are excited to bring the film to audiences around the world."

"Making 'Jerusalem' is the dream of a lifetime," said producers Taran Davies and George Duffield, founders of Cosmic Picture, and Writer/Director Daniel Ferguson. "Through the unrivaled beauty, visceral nature and incredible technology of giant screen and IMAX® cameras, we were able to compose the images and move the camera in a way that makes you feel as if you are experiencing Jerusalem first-hand. We hope that it will thrill and surprise audiences around the world."

Jerusalem takes audiences on an inspiring and eye-opening tour of one of the world's oldest and most enigmatic cities. Destroyed and rebuilt countless times over 5,000 years, Jerusalem's enduring appeal remains a mystery. What made it so important to so many different cultures? How did it become the center of the world for three major religions? Why does it still matter to us? The film attempts to answer these questions by following three young Jerusalemites and their families – Jewish, Christian and Muslim. Through their eyes, audiences will discover what it means to call Jerusalem home and experience celebrations and events that mark the high points of a year in the life of the city.
